Frequently Asked Questions
How can I get a list of all my Stewdio members who don't have
email?
There are several ways to get the names and/or addresses of members without
email. (Of course they are there individually on the site--you can always look
up a member's snail mail address in the member list.) If you want a list of ALL
the members of your Stewdio without email addresses there are three ways you can
do it.:
-
Send an email to all members, Stewdio will automatically
email you the names and addresses of all members without email
- Request a data download and then sort the data (in Access, etc.) for members without
email
- Create an email distribution list. All the
members without email are highlighted in red.
How do I delete an entire
member without just deactivating them?
- Deleting a member does just that, it deletes them.
- If you want to leave them as "Mailing-List Only" or "Associate" status,
which leaves them in your database but eliminates their member privileges
and keeps them out of your private area you just go to "Edit Member Info",
choose their name and change the radio button choice at the top from
"Member" to "Associate".
- If you want to eliminate only some of their information and leave a name
then you must go in to the "Edit Member Info" area and delete the info you
don't want.
Is there a
way to put a block on the expiration box in the membership profile so that only
a few select admin people can modify it?
Other than the members themselves, only
Administrators can modify Member Profiles.
I noticed that even though a
member's information may not be available if the "do not share my info" box is
checked, it is still seen if one click's on the edit/modify box. Is there a way
to not make this info public?
As stated above, this is the case. Only
Administrators can see other Member Profiles in the "Edit Member Info" area.
Is there a way to
do mailing labels off of our list?
You can download an Excel or comma-delimited
file from the "Member Info" area by choosing "Printable Lists", selecting the
"Printable Lists" button and making the appropriate choices. You can then use
the file to print mailing labels or do a mail merge.
How can I sort or otherwise manipulate my list information for reports or ...?
You can download an Excel or comma-delimited
file from the "Member Info" area by choosing "Printable Lists", selecting the
"Printable Lists" button and making the appropriate choices. You can then use
the file to print mailing labels or do a mail merge.

Dear [Groupname] member,
[Groupname] now offers individual Web pages for its
members.
A [Groupname] Member Stewdio is a very easy, very low-cost way
to establish a presence on the Internet for yourself and your work. You can
create your Member Stewdio in a few minutes and update it yourself anytime (no
Webmaster needed!). Your Member Stewdio can include information about yourself, a
picture, links to other sites, your personal events calendar, and shared files
where you can display samples of your work. The cost is only $__/year, which
compares very favorably with other services.
Best of all, [Groupname] Member Stewdios will be accessible
and searchable (by name and by genre) from the public home page of the
[Groupname] Stewdio so that when people come to [Groupname] looking for you they
will be able to find you. (Of course, you’ll also have an address you can give
out for direct public access.) We hope that enough [Groupname] members will take
advantage of this service that it can become an important link between the
public and our members.
To see existing Member Stewdios, go to the [Groupname] Stewdio
public home page http://cstew.com/[Groupname]/
and click on “Member Stewdios”.
To create your Member Stewdio, do the following:
- Go
to the [Groupname] Stewdio, click “Members Only”, and log in with your
email address and password.
- Click
on “Create Member Stewdio” and follow the instructions there.
- After
you create your Member Stewdio you can upload samples of your work (or any
other files) by clicking on “Upload Shared Files” and saving them to
your Member Stewdio.
- After
you create your Member Stewdio, go to "Edit User Info" and then to
"Edit Member Genres" and click on the genres applicable to you.
The public will then be able to find you when they search our Member Stewdios
for those genres.
- The
cost is $__/year, and may be paid when you pay your dues in future years.
For the current year we would appreciate it if you send a prorated check
(i.e., $__ for each month or partial month between now and [annual dues
payment date]) to [Groupname] when you create your page.
You can update your Member Stewdio at any time just by
going to the “Private Home” page and clicking on “Edit Member Stewdio”.
